If you are piloting the Neberkenezzer, fighting a bunch of robot sentries, and beaming humans in and out of a matrix I could see the use for this set up.
You might want to take a look at tunneling synergy through some encryption as the protocol operates in plain text. While on a switched home network you’re probably not be at any large risk, but a colleague had not considered this and was broadcasting some sensitive keystrokes throughout the office.
Jim, much agreed. In my configuration I am actually using a separate interface on a private network.
